Recent Statistics In The American Society For Aesthetic Plastic Surgery or ASAPS

Cosmetic Surgery | Plastic Surgeon | Calabasas | San Fernando CAIn the most recent, i.e. the 18th annual statistical data report released by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the figures spent on plastic surgery in the United States in the year 2013 were unraveled. It was clearly observed that Americans have spent nearly close to 12 million dollars on cosmetic or plastic surgical and non-surgical procedures. Out of the 10 million surgical procedures that were performed in the year 2014, the cosmetic procedures that were more frequently performed from one year to the next were buttock augmentation, non-surgical fat reduction and labiaplasty. Apart from this, it seems that more men are getting pulled into the clutches of aesthetically-enhancing cosmetic procedures, surgical and nonsurgical, showing a drastic increase in cosmetic surgery procedures over the course of the last 5 years. Below are the top 5 most frequently performed surgical procedures for men and women in the year 2014 - -Nose Surgery or Rhinoplasty -Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty -Eyelid Surgery -Liposuction; and -Breast Augmentation And below are the top 5 most frequently performed non-surgical procedures for men and women in the year 2014 – -Hair Removal -Chemical Peel -Microdermabrasion -Hyaluronic Acid; and -Botulinum Toxin Some of the cosmetic procedures mentioned above, including a few other popular procedures, did decrease in frequency of performance in the year 2014, such as breast augmentation surgery, ear surgery, and injectables. Even though the public at large had reduced having cosmetic surgeries performed on them, it is very evident that men, as much as women, have been flocking to plastic surgeons to have different types of cosmetic procedures, surgical and non-surgical, done on them too. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has observed that the percentage of men getting surgical and non-surgical procedures performed on them had gone up by 43% in the year 2014. The ASAPS also observed the increases and decreases in percentages of certain surgical, non-surgical and anti-aging procedures that were being opted for by men from the year 2010 to 2014. There are as follows –

Surgical Procedures:

-Male Breast Reduction -Facelift; and -Blepharoplasty

Non-Surgical Procedures:

-Intense Pulsed Light -Nonsurgical skin tightening -Hyaluronic Acid; and -Botulium Toxin The ASAPS also observed that the number of surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures performed on men have increased by 273% since the year 1997, based on statistical data collected and analyzed by the ASAPS. And it is believed that this trend is only going to go upward rather than downward in the future. These days, men want to look handsome and youthful just as much as the women because they feel that they exuberate a better personality and higher energy levels when they look good. Looking good amounts to feeling good too - according to the accomplished plastic surgeons of the ASAPS. The ASAPS is made up of nearly 2600 plastic surgeons, one of whom is Dr. Bijan Farah who heads the Rejuvenate Medical Spa located at 17130 Ventura Blvd. Encino, CA 91316.
